Originally from Africa, the banjo has found its way into many of the most American forms of music. It's most commonly associated with bluegrass music after Earl Scruggs joined Bill Monroe's band, the Bluegrass Boys and amazed the world with his three finger banjo style. However, most people don't realize that the banjo was also traditionally used in jazz, country, old-time, and even classical.
The banjo is continually developing as more and more players push it into new and unexpected places.
Banjo Lessons are $20 per half hour session.
